For the first time in years Tom Boyle was nervous. He grabbed the brass ring and was heading for the big time. The corporate world held more appeal than his former life in the military. He dusted off his degree, got his MBA and was picked up by Nevins & Company the largest privately held company in the world.
Originating in the Old South, Nevins profited during good times and bad. Now, Nevins’ interests are worldwide and continue to be enormously profitable. Headquartered now in lower Manhattan, they control an empire worthy of Rome itself. Unbeknownst to most, they have a dark side. Their white knight façade hides sinister plots.
Boyle learns of the horrific rape of his boss, Kelly Churchill, by the very man who hired him, Robert Clifton the President of Nevins. Churchill was certain her past would never be discovered but it was. She stays quiet or else. Clifton cannot do all this alone. Solomon (Solly) Feder, a non-descript employee of the company, is the evil behind it all.
A number of women of color who had interviewed with Nevins disappear as do young Jewish women. These women, whose fates are sealed, are transported to Caracas, Venezuela via corporate jets and held in a warehouse for sale, and final disposition.
Boyle is introduced to Tim Mathei, a retired NYPD hero and now the company security director. The investigation reveals more than they could have imagined. The action bounces from New York and Caracas posing risks and challenges to both sides. Greed, power, and evil are moving forward like a tidal wave toward and unsuspecting shoreline. Boyle, Mathei and their teams are trying to stop the onrushing wave by attempting to rescue the women and exposing Clifton and Feder.
The battles between the factions culminate with a stunning conclusion.

First let me say this author creates visions of characters for me like no other author I can remember. I really like his style and crisp, yet fully functional descriptions of the characters and plot twists. I could just say it was an easy read, but even though it was an easy read due to the smooth flow of the written words, it was insidious evil in its purest form. I couldn't put it down. If I wasn't reading my Kindle app on my iPad, I was reading it in my cloud smart phone in bed. The only negative I can offer is, I started reading it around 8pm and stayed with it till I finished it about an hour before leaving for the office, dead tired. I suggest new readers start on a weekend. The big surprise was the price. I feel a little guilty for taking advantage of the author. Had I known of it before I purchased, I would have gladly paid a lot more. It sets up for a thrilling sequel...... I'm anxiously waiting to follow this plot, even it it costs a little more. INSIDIOUS EVIL eBook Hugh FX McMahon Reviews
For a first novel Insidious Evil kept me reading and made me look forward to the writers next mystery. It was written from a point of view that made me feel like the writer had seen more than he should have.
This is a fast paced adventure with great characters and plot. It was a hard book to put down since I was wondering what would happen next. The character developement was quickly accomplished and believeable. The main subjects are either completely sympathetic or completely antithetic. References
to actual locations and conditions made the story realistic. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I cna't believe this is a first novel. The story line and the character development are those of a mature author.
This is one of those all too rare books which you just can't put down. From the time I began reading it had to be pried from my hand in order to go to work or eat dinner. I even skipped Monday Night Football!
I hope that McMahon is working on a sequel. His characters have become a part of my life.

Great character development, a page turner, GREAT, alleged, First Book, I need more, intoxicating, felt like I was there next to the characters at all stages,can this guy write or what, I bet he wasn't very good in English class.
With all seriousness, I was hooked at the first paragraph and did not let up until I finished. Unlike some others I went to sleep every now and then.

Don't buy Insidious Evil if you have any work or reports due in the 24 hours after you purchase it! You will not be able to put this crime/action novel down once you start it...... McMahon is obviously a New Yorker, you can see it in his characters and locations and you will appreciate his familiarity with his settings. If you came from NY, you will recognize it and feel at home. If you are not a native NY'er, you will wish you were...
Corporate crime, big city cops, military ops; it is all here! Even a hint of Nazi's for you conspiracists....
This book was one of those "don't you dare put me down" reads that grab you from the get-go! McMahon was able to thicken the plot seamlessly without confusing the main theme. He also "insidiously" crafted a moral lesson that is particularly apt in our society today, that "evil inevitably turns in upon itself!" I enjoyed this one from stem to stern and cannot wait to see what McMahon comes up with next! You are getting a lot of bang for your buck with this book. This is the kind of story that would make a bombshell movie!
I read it, my Mom read it, my sister read it. Gr8 story. It made u think and most importantly, didn't use simple words or talk down to the reader. It shows that u don't need, sex, rough language and violence to hold the attention of the reader.
Have passed it along to friends and they buy copies for friends. Looking forward to the next book by this author..
